Different types of foster care placements

At Aspris, we offer placements to suit foster carers and children and young people. Our goal is to create effective matches which have positive outcomes for everyone.

Our carers provide stable foster care placements in warm and welcoming family homes across the West Midlands for:

  • Children and young people up to the age of 18 years
  • Sibling groups (brothers and sisters)
  • Parent and child placements
  • Unaccompanied asylum seeking children

How long do foster placements last?

The length of a fostering placement depends on multiple factors, including the needs of the individual child or young person and their unique set of circumstances, the age of the child or young person, and the plans for the individual.

Placements with Aspris Fostering Services are typically categorised as:

  • Short-term
  • Long-term
  • Respite placements
  • Parent and child placements

We work together with you as the foster carers to identify what your fostering preferences are, to help provide the best possible matching and outcomes for everyone involved. We’ll get to know you and your family and find out which children you’d be best suited to care for.
