Welcoming our new Head of Service, John Heron

Aspris Fostering Services would like to extend a very warm welcome to our new Head of Service, John Heron.

John is a Registered Social Worker who has worked with children and families for 42 years, most of that time being spent managing fostering services. John brings with him a wealth of experience and a belief that foster care makes a real and lasting difference to children.

John has already met many of our foster carers at a recent coffee morning and the Big Shout Out summer event in July, and has spoken to many more since. John had this to say about his time with Aspris Fostering Services so far:

“I am thrilled to have joined our Fostering Team as Head of Service. It was really good to meet many foster carers and children at the Big Shout Out event, and I am looking forward to meeting those of you I missed over the coming weeks.

“I’m passionate about foster care and believe that if we support our foster carers well, we are able to provide safe, secure and loving foster homes for the children we look after. Good quality foster care really does make a life-long difference to children and young people. I’m looking forward to working closely with our families to continue the good work they’ve done and to develop the service further.

“I am also really keen to develop a foster carers forum in order to further work in partnership to develop and support the service. I have been excited too to see how busy the service is with three new children being placed with the service in July and so far in August. There are also prospective new foster carers in assessment. Onwards and upwards Thank you to our foster carers for all that you do.”
